Snowboarding: Getting Started

Boomer snowboarding

More and more Baby Boomers are finding joy in sports that are traditionally thought of only for the young. We like thinking "out of the box" and are looking for a challenge. Consequently, we find alternative activities for the age advantaged. Snowboarding is one of these sports. We are now learning that physically, our knees and ankles don't take such a beating because they are strapped into the board. Snowboarding has a faster learning curve than alpine skiing, so if you can get past the first couple days, you will look better faster.

If you want to be at resorts with lots of snow, you can turn easier on a board. When doing sports with grandchildren, it is great to look "hip" The equipment is less expensive than skiing, and the boots are soft and easy while walking around the resort. Sounds like some great reasons to get started!
